A New BioWare IP Is In Production

BioWare had a less than successful start with “Mass Effect: Andromeda”. The game was riddled with bugs, glitches, and those terrible facial expressions. Apparently, EA has not yet lost faith in them, since a new IP is expected to come from the gaming dinosaur studio.

GameRant reports that a new IP will come from EA with BioWare as the main development team behind it. The game is set to release before the end of the next fiscal year, which leaves a little less than 14 months between the statement and launch date. For now, it is expected, that EA will release further information on the new IP during their E3 presentation. Will this be the next big hit? Will BioWare manage to clear their name before the fans? Not much is known, but there is a lot to be expected.

It is reported by Gamespot that the game will be a type of MMO. In the words of the developers, it will be a title, that a person will have a lot of fun playing with friends. When asked about the genre, it was replied that the game will be less of an RPG and more of an action oriented game. BioWare has been in development of the title since 2012 and they have worked on blending a few game genres in a way, which will keep players interested and will bring a lot of changes to the action MMO market. At the moment this space is dominated by “Destiny” and “Ghost Recon”. If BioWare claims they have a strong competitor for the category it will sure be good to at least give them a chance to present their product.

In unrelated news, TechRadar reports that Nintendo is preparing a big surprise for E3 2017. The company has been absent from the show for a few years already, but Reggie Fils-Aime, the director of Nintendo America has announced that the company has big plans for this year’s conference. The only confirmed information is that there will be a variety of Switch and 3DS games, so the emphasis will not fall on a single console. Maybe, finally, some of the big games planned for the Switch will get an official reveal.
The new BioWare project will be released in 2018.
