Sonic Lost World Free DLC Offers Legend of Zelda Stage- Link Gameplay Footage Revealed [VIDEO]

Sonic Lost World's Zelda Stage Looks Pretty Awesome In Gameplay Video

Sonic and Zelda together? If you came up gaming in the 1990's, that probably sounds like blasphemy.

But it's really happening, as free DLC launching tomorrow for Sonic Lost World will send everyone's favorite blue hedgehog into the land of Hyrule.

IGN got an exclusive look at the new DLC today from Sega's Associate Product Manager Aaron Webber, and it looks pretty cool.

There's going to be plenty of Zelda references, and from different points of Zelda lore. Sonic's dressed in Link's famous green garb, Twilight Princess' Hyrule Castle serves as a backdrop, Link rides by on a Loftwing from Skyward Sword and Stalfos pops out of the ground in a shout-out to Ocarina of Time.

Sonic even gets to explore a dungeon, unfamiliar territory for the normally fast-paced blue blur. For devout players of Lost World, this DLC could also prove lucrative -- every rupee collected will give a freed animal, which allows you to unlock stages in the main game.

This isn't the first Sonic crossover either: if you haven't done so already, download the Yoshi's Island stage to get some more Nintendo crossover action.

Luckily for those itching for the Hyrule stage after watching this gameplay, the wait will not be long. The Legend of Zelda stage drops tomorrow, March 27, as a free DLC for all Lost World players.
