New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gameplay Footage Shows Improved Web Slinging [VIDEO]

New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gameplay Footage Looks Promising

If you were a fan of 2004's Spider-Man 2 video game, you've likely been waiting for that perfect Spidey game to match that experience ever since then.

Beenox's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, based around the upcoming movie and launching on April 29, could finally be that game, as new developer footage released today looks like some quality Spidey action.

Building upon the base that they built with the previous Amazing Spider-Man game -- which definitely fell into the "good, not great" category -- this iteration looks to be quite solid in the gameplay department, if decidedly last-gen in its presentation.

Gone from the last game are the zoomed-in web-slinging views and web strings that cling to thin air -- this new-and-improved Spider-Man has to have something to hang on, with the all-new dual-trigger web-slinging system.

Also in the new game is a plethora of Spidey suits, both from the comics and the movies (and even a few from previous Beenox entries, like 2099 Spider-Man). All of the suits will give Spider-Man power boosts, according to the video.

The free-flowing Batman: Arkham-esque combat looks to be improved, as does the stealth features that were a little clunky in the last game. Lastly, this game introduces the first-ever gameplay as Peter Parker, which is either going to be really awesome or suck hard.

At any rate, this game does appear to have some promise. Check out the gameplay below and let us know if this game gets your Spidey Senses tingling.
