2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Game Modes Revealed in New Trailer [VIDEO]

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Game Modes Detailed in New Trailer

EA Sports has released a video showing off 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil's gameplay modes, which we haven't heard too much about so far. The game is a full-priced, standalone title acting as this year's tie-in to the summer's big World Cup tournament in Brazil. 2014 FIFA World Cup will have 10 new exclusive game modes, which are on display in the trailer, below.

As I pointed out in the first trailer for the game, there's a lot of focus on the fan passion and pageantry, which is such a big part of international football. This includes rendering the unique Brazilian stadiums that will host the World Cup this year.

The main new game modes available in 2014 FIFA World Cup are "Road to the World Cup", "Captain Your Country", "Road to Rio de Janeiro", "Online FIFA World Cup", "Story of Qualifying" and "Story of Finals". These are supplemented by less deep modes like "Kickoff", "Skill Games" and "Online Friendlies".

The modes take you through various parts of the World Cup experience, from taking control of any of the 203 FIFA national teams in a tournament to playing out real-life qualifying scenarios with specific teams.

The "Captain Your Country" mode was, according to the video, one of the most popular FIFA game modes of all time, and is returning here. It allows gamers to play as a specific player and take them through their national team's roster, hopefully eventually captaining the side to glory.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 17. Be sure to check out my preview of the 2014 World Cup, where I rank the best national teams in FIFA 14.
