Game of Thrones' Opening Takes On The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim [VIDEO]

Game of Thrones' Intro Gets Some Skyrim Flair

We figured something like this would have to happen sooner or later. The Elder Scrolls and "A Song of Fire and Ice" (Game of Thrones to the uninitiated) have more than their fair share of similarities, what with walking undead, political intrigue, moral ambiguity, and fire breathing dragons. Though, I have to give the edge to the HBO series solely because Peter Dinklage is the "da bomb." Are the kids still sayin' that these days?

The two massive fan bases would have to cross paths eventually. But instead of some Blackwater type battle, Brady Wold, obviously a big fan of both series, took inspiration from the show's opening to create a sort oh homage that would appease "Game of Thrones" and Skyrim fans alike.

"This started off as an exercise to kill time one afternoon about two years ago," describes Brady. "I continued to work on it here and there throughout various freelance projects, internships, and other personal projects until it became a burden; my very own 'white whale.'"

I think most people by now are familiar with "Game of Thrones'" opener, scrolling across the world's cities where the various stories have been unfolding. Only Throne's cities of King's Landing, Dragonstone, Harrenhal, Winterfell, The Wall, and Astapor have been replaced by Skyrim's Whiterun, Solitude, Markarth, Riften, and Windhelm respectively.

"After thousands of hours, it's time to move on to bigger, and better things. I present 'Thrones.'" Make sure you check it out below.
