Xbox Series S: 4 GREAT Reasons To Buy One In 2022

4 GREAT Reasons To Buy An Xbox Series S In 2022

The Xbox Series S, despite still being a next-gen console by all intents and purposes, remains largely ignored in lieu of its big brother: the mighty Xbox Series X. But there's a lot that this tiny console can still do, so you better believe it's worth buying right now.

In this article, you're going to read about 5 greatreasons why the Xbox Series S is a worthy console to buy this year, even if you think you can get a PS5 or Series X.

Its Very Low Price

Let's start with the most obvious: the Series S' price. Microsoft originally launched it at an MSRP of $299, which makes it the cheapest next-gen console out there-even cheaper than the PS5's all-digital edition, writes GameRant. This basically makes the Series S already a bargain, but that's not even the end of it.

Extremely high demand for the Series X has made it super-expensive. But this has also led to a low demand for its little brother, which drove the Series S' price down even more. If you look quickly at eBay right now, you'll find that you can get a Series S console for as cheap as under $200 bucks if you're patient enough to look for it.

Considering what Microsoft designed the Series S for: 1080p-1440p gaming with HDR, Dolby Surround, and an endless supply of games via Xbox Game Pass (more on this later), this is a bargain like any other. You get a reliable console to set you up for the rest of the generation all without breaking the bank. If that's not enticing to you, then nothing is.

It Is Almost Always In Stock

Another knack on the Series X, despite its amazing capabilities, is that it is barely in stock anywhere. Seriously, it's like trying to find a unicorn. But the Xbox Series S? Look at any local and online retailers that come to mind, and nine times out of ten they're going to have the Series S in stock.

What's even better is that some retailers, like Best Buy, will sell it for MSRP bundled with a subscription like 3 free months of Apple TV+. Or maybe it will come bundled with a game like "Fortnite" for free. Once again, an absolute bargain.

Excellent Price-To-Performance Balance

The Xbox Series S does have a few hardware compromises, sure. But for its MSRP of $299 (or even lower if you via Craigslist or eBay), the performance you get is absolutely bonkers.

Sure, it can't run a lot of games in native 4K like its bigger brother, but the Series S' 4-teraflop GPU is more than capable of giving you a smooth 1440p experience. 1440p gaming for under $300 is no slouch, considering equivalent gaming PCs will cost you upwards of over $1500 or more. Not to mention, it also has a lot of the same features like Smart Delivery, a super-fast SSD (albeit a smaller capacity one) and ray tracing, according to TechRadar.

Xbox Game Pass

Three words: Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft's gaming subscription service is the preeminent king right now, with no other close competitors in sight. For as little as $9.99 a month, you'll get access to almost every single latest game coming out for Microsoft's console. Plus, you'll also get Day One access to exclusives--all WITHOUT having to pay full price.

Sorry PlayStation fans, but PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now just couldn't compete with that. With Game Pass, you'll never run out of games-literally.
