What's Next For Batman: Arkham Knight Developer Rocksteady, Maybe More Dark Knight Games?

Where Do We Go From Here? Batman Developer Gives Some Insight Into Rocksteady's Future Plans

Ever since Game Informer's reveal of Batman: Arkham Knight in its April issue, the internet has been abuzz trying to figure out all of the finer details of the open-world Gotham-roaming adventure.

But a question that hasn't really been tackled yet is what developer Rocksteady plans on doing next, since the studio has already revealed that Arkham Knight will be the conclusion to the Arkham series (at least Rocksteady's part of it, as Arkham Origins could be expanded upon).

Well, in the final part of Game Informer's month-long coverage of Arkham Knight, GI's Ben Hanson interviewed Arkham Knight game director Sefton Hill about what's next for the beloved studio.

"It's kind of strange, because this is the end of the fran-, end of the trilogy for us, but we've not thought too much about what's next, because we're so focused on finishing this one," Hill said. "And the conversations are, 'What do you guys want to do next?' And it's like well, I don't know, because our heads are so forward on finishing this one."

Oh, hello. Maybe just a little slip-up, but Hill did correct himself on saying "franchise," instead opting to just say "trilogy." So maybe another tour with Batman is in order, at a different part of his life or in a different universe?

At any rate, Rocksteady is going to go over their options and pick the perfect topic for their next game (or games).

"I think it'd have to be the right license, that we felt we could contribute to in that way," Hill said. "But I don't think we'd necessarily wouldn't do an original IP either, like I don't think there's a conscious decision to do that. But I think, whatever it is, it has to have that richness, that level of detail, that lore that Batman has. So, good luck finding that, I guess."

Hill did, unfortunately, rule out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So that sucks. But at any rate, I'm pretty confident that whatever Rocksteady does will be awesome. Be sure to check out the rest of the video over at GI.

What do you all think the guys over at Rocksteady should take on next?
