'God Of War' Mod On PC Brings 'Fortnite Kratos' To The Game

This 'God Of War' PC Mod Brings 'Fortnite Kratos' To The Game

A "God Of War" mod on PC just brought the "Fortnite" version of Kratos into the game, over a year after the iconic character was brought into the massively popular battle royale title as a guest.

GamesRadar reports that the mod basically takes the character design of Kratos as he appeared during "Fortnite" Season 5. For now, though, the mod hasn't been released to the public yet but could be accessed by users if they sign up for the modder's Patreon.

Here is a video showcasing the mod in action, specifically in the scene where Kratos first meets Baldur:

As you can see in the video, "Fortnite Kratos" looks to be simultaneously fitting and ill-fitting within "God Of War's" amazing-looking world. He looks relatively low-res compared to everything else, though the character design is still quite accurate to what Sony Santa Monica did for the 2018 game. It's just... shall we say, "Fortnite-fied."

This mod is just one of many others that have been further improving on the PC port of "God Of War," which was released last January to widespread acclaim. It also introduced a lot more people-basically the entire PC gaming community-to just how great of a game the former PlayStation exclusive is.

When it launched on January 14th, "God Of War" on PC was praised for the absolutely sublime performance it had on PC. This was something that other former PlayStation exclusives, like "Horizon Zero Dawn" and "Days Gone," struggled with when they were first ported to PC.

Aside from the excellent performance on the wide range of PC hardware, the game was also lauded for its excellent story and gameplay-both of which were hallmarks of the original 2018 game. As a result, the "God Of War" PC port became the highest-rated Sony game on Steam ever, as reported by NME:

How 'God Of War's' Kratos Basically Became A 'Fortnite' Meme

Upon his release, "Fortnite Kratos" gained a bit of notoriety due to how he's portrayed in Epic Games' mega-hit battle royale. That's because him being in "Fortnite" means players can basically make him do things that would otherwise be completely out of character.

A few videos of "Fortnite Kratos" getting it down were shared online during the early days of his integration in the game, and boy does it look amusing and quite weird at the same time:

It was funny enough that according to Polygon, "God Of War" creator David Jaffe joked on his Twitter account that he was "glad" they didn't use Kratos' original look from the PS2 and PS3 era games of the franchise.

Nevertheless, this "God Of War" mod on PC will now let you bring back a semblance of seriousness in the "Fortnite-fied" version of Kratos. And if that's not your speed, as previously said, the game's modding scene on PC is bustling.

A handful of modders allow players to remove Kratos' beard, skip the PlayStation studios intro, or even import their original PS4 save file into PC to use that for a NG+ playthrough (via PCGamer).
