Titanfall Matchmaking Update Is Live Tonight, Attrition and Hardpoint Get the Update First

Well, That Was Quick. Titanfall Matchmaking Beta Over, Goes Live Into Matchmaking Tonight

When Respawn revealed last week that they'd be patching Titanfall to include more balanced matchmaking, it made for a lot of happy gamers. The new system promised that players would no longer be faced with being on a team of level ones against a team of generation 10 players and getting stomped (which happened a whole bunch, actually).

The program went almost immediately into beta, and now apparently Respawn has seen enough to make the change permanent.

"Thanks to everyone who played in our Improved Matchmaking Beta during the last week," the Titanfall team said on the game's site today. "As of tonight you'll notice that option is no longer in the menu. We've updated Attrition and Hardpoints modes (non-Campaign) with improved matchmaking, so you'll be playing it automatically. We'll continue updating matchmaking for the other modes. Stay tuned!"

So there you have it. Titanfall's two biggest modes will be getting the update tonight, April 3, and others are sure to come in short order based off of Respawn's spectacular track record to this point in Titanfall's young life.

This is exciting, because as someone who has played a lot of Titanfall firsthand lately, the beta matchmaking definitely made a very big difference. There's of course still going to be the occasional time when you're matched up unevenly because of people traveling in a party, but I noticed many less unbalanced matches over the last week. Mark me as excited.
