This Insane Red Dead Redemption 2 Combat Detail Remained Secret For FOUR Years - Until Today

Red Dead Redemption 2 is already chock full of insane little details in its own right. Most of these details have already been found, but it seems like there's one that remained hidden from so many people until today.

GameRant reports about the experience by Redditor Illusivehcris0452, who says he just discovered that tonic bottles can be shot out of Arthur's hands if he decides to take one mid-fight. He posted a quick video of the detail in action, and so far it has already racked up over 3,600 upvotes as of this writing:

In the fight, Illusivechris tried to pull out a tonic to restore their Dead Eye. But to his surprise, he wasn't even able to chug it as some sharpshooting NPC managed to make it explode in Arthur's hand. But while the detail itself is already amazing, what could be even more astounding is that almost all commenters were as shocked as Illusivechris was.

It seemed to be that the commenters on the post have also never encountered the detail before in tier own RDR2 playthroughs. One commenter even mentioned how the bottle being shot off might have saved Arthur's life in-game. While one person did say that this happens to them constantly, almost everyone else looked to have had the same level of surprise as Illusivechris did.

Either way, this detail basically stayed hidden in the four years since Red Dead Redemption 2 released back in 2018. It was hailed as one of the most amazing-looking games of its time, and even four years on it is still one of the best-looking games in the world.

Much of the visual grandiose of this Rockstar Games opus is the fact that the tiniest details are what make the open world come alive - far beyond what any other open world can give you. It could've been far easier for the developers to just never include the animation. But alas, they did, and that's where we end up here.

Maybe you could try this next time to see if it will also happen to you, or if the NPC just had a lucky shot.

Arthur's facial hair grows in real-time. When it's time to groom, his styling options are limited to how long it's grown.
Forgetting to eat and rest will make Arthur feel fatigued.
Arthur will either lose or gain weight depending on how much food he eats, and this will be visibly shown.
The bodies of unconscious or dead enemies will generally stay where they are, marked as a small x on the map. This way, you can go back and loot them.
If you don't loot bodies fast enough and you have your gang with you, they're gonna take everything.
Snow on Arthur's clothes will melt over time, blood will dry up and leave a stain, and mud will solidify.
