EA Sports' Next UFC Game To Feature Bruce Lee for PS4 and Xbox One- How Will Jeet Kune Do Compete in MMA? [VIDEO]

Bruce Lee to Appear in Next-Gen UFC Game

Bruce Lee has returned from the grave, ageless and ready to kick in some heads in MMA fighting! EA has today revealed that the legenadary martial artist will be a playable character in the upcoming next-gen title EA SPORTS UFC for Xbox One and PS4. He will be available for anyone who pre-orders the game on day one, although he will also be available to anyone who can complete the game's career mode at Pro difficulty. Good luck with that. Once unlocked you can play as Lee in four different weight classes (Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight and Lightweight divisions) in order to test the master of Jeet Kung Do against the best of UFC.

“I am so excited about this opportunity to bring my father back to videogames!” said Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter, CEO of Bruce Lee, LLC and Chairperson of the Bruce Lee Foundation in a statement. “I’m thrilled that fans can now interact with him in a new way. The EA SPORTS UFC development team has been incredible to work with, and they've done a great job capturing the look and feel of my father. I think people will love getting a chance to fulfill a fight fantasy by playing Bruce Lee in the new UFC game.”

EA is equally excited, of course. "It has always been part of our vision to have Bruce Lee, the most iconic martial artist of all time, in the first ever EA SPORTS UFC," said Brian Hayes, Creative Director, EA. "The team is very excited and tremendously honored to have the privilege of bringing Bruce Lee to life in our game. We've been working closely with the Bruce Lee team to ensure we represent the legend with as much visual and gameplay fidelity as possible."

Not only will he look like Lee but he'll fight just like him too- he'll have his familiar stance, speed, strikes and of course, his disorienting yells.

“There’s no debate, Bruce Lee is the father of mixed martial arts,” said Dana White, UFC President. “He believed not one style of fighting was the best and that you had to have a little piece of everything to be a complete fighter. He was proven right when the first UFC event took place in 1993.”

EA SPORTS UFC hits June 20, 2014 for Xbox One and PS4. Check out the reveal trailer below!
