You Can Test Out Halo Infinite's Campaign Co-Op This July

The long-awaited campaign co-op feature for Halo Infinite is finally coming. Well, sort of - if you don't mind it basically being a public beta test.

As reported by PCGamer, the beta test for Halo Infinite campaign co-op is scheduled for July according to an announcement from developer 343 Industries. To join the public beta, players can sign up as members of the Halo Insider program, with signups already open on HaloWaypoint. 343 didn't explain what the eligibility requirements are, though, so maybe it's on you to find things out as you sign up.

But before you do, you must remember that joining the Insider Program doesn't automatically grant you access to the campaign co-op "flighting." By signing up, players are only going to be "considered," so maybe the ones that get selected will be notified either by email or some other communication platforms.

To sign up, all you need to do is enter your email address, alongside details on what platforms you play on. According to Kotaku, you might even need to input the screen resolution you play at if you're on Xbox. Afterwards, you'll tell 343 what days and times you're available to play. And voila - all you have to do now is wait to get selected. Invites for Halo Infinite campaign co-op flights are expected to be sent out sometime next month.

If you're unaware of what flighting means in the Halo community, it's basically a way for the team at 343 to interact with the franchise's massive fanbase and collect feedback on numerous things. These are often comprised of major gameplay updates, to which Halo Infinite's campaign co-op perfectly falls into.

If you get considered, you'll be among the first to finally try the long-awaited feature out - something that's been more or less a staple of the sci-fi shooter franchise over the years.

Once the public beta test is done, 343 expects to fully launch the feature by August. This will be the first actual look at the feature since the developers delayed the mode last year, saying that it will come alongside Infinite's second season. And that is more or less on point, since Season 2 (titled Lone Wolves) just launched and will last until November 8th (via ShackNews).

What About Split-Screen Multiplayer?

Local split-screen multiplayer is another Halo franchise staple, but its implementation (if it even is official) in Infinite is iffy. The only way you can play split-screen on Infinite as of now is via a very particular series of steps. Here's how to do it, according to Digital Trends:

Launch the game on your console of choice, but make sure your Xbox account is logged in and online.
Go to the Multiplayer menu, then turn on the second controller.
Press the Menu button on controller 2.
Use the second controller to sign into another Xbox account. The reason is simple: you can't play multiplayer with a Guest account in Halo Infinite.
Pick the type of game you want and start looking for a match.

As for the official implementation of split-screen, you'll have to wait until Season 3 of the multiplayer comes along at the earliest, reports Eurogamer.
