Marvel Announces Captain America 3 Release Date After Record-Setting Winter Soldier Opening Weekend

Ready To Move On From Captain America: The Winter Soldier Already? Well, Now We Know When Captain America 3 Is Coming

Hey, so have you read all the reviews for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, checked out the latest costume leaks for Avengers 2 and seen how well it did in the box office, and now you just need even more Captain news?

Well, good news! Marvel Studios, hot on the heels of the biggest movie release in the history of the month of April, has just announced on their site the date of the next solo installment of Captain America. From Marvel's site:

"Following the record-breaking premiere of Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier this past weekend, the First Avenger will jump into his next big screen solo adventure in just a little more than two years on May 6, 2016!

"Before the untitled Captain America 3 hits theaters, though, fans can next see Cap when he joins the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes once more in Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015!"

So there you have it. May 6, 2016. Mark it down on your calendars!

Color me excited about this one, because I loved Winter Soldier and really thought it was one of the best Marvel movies yet. The speculation can now turn to who the next villain will be for America's hero. Screen Rant put together a cool list a couple days ago, and my personal favorite would be MODOK. But the theory of Red Skull coming back in some capacity does make sense...

At any rate, we've got a while to mull this one over, as Guardians of the Galaxy this summer and Avengers: Age of Ultron next year should draw the attention of Marvel Universe fans for the foreseeable future. But definitely let us know who your villain pick would be for Captain America 3 in the comments!
