Elden Ring Players Are Debating Which Bosses Stink The Most ... For Some Reason

Players Are Now Debating Which Elden Ring Bosses Smell The Worst

To say that Elden Ring has penetrated the collective psyche of the game industry is a massive understatement. Because it has, and so many gamers have never stopped talking about it ever since it launched this year. However, did you imagine players would talk about something ... like this?

A very popular post on the game's subreddit (which has gained almost 3,000 upvotes at the time of this writing) asked one pointed question: which of the numerous Elden Ring bosses would smell the absolute worst? As reported by GameRant, a lot of gamers agreed to specific bosses more often than others, and the post will actually make you think if you're a fan of the game as well:

It seems to be that so many players of FromSoftware's first open-world Soulsborne are agreeing that Malenia, the toughest boss in the game, would be the stinkiest out of all Elden Ring bosses. One commenter says that she might smell of rotting flesh and herbs due to numerous instances of bandages on her body.

In a reply, another Redditor said that the potential smell of her Scarlet Bloom (the pink rose-like flower that's part of her second boss phase) could be that of the aptly named corpse flower. The flower smells exactly as it is named, which is really, really bad. So perhaps you should be thankful that you don't have to sniff her out yourself.

Another one of the numerous Elden Ring bosses that could smell terrible is the Dung Eater. Well, the name kind of gives it away, doesn't it? To cap things off, people are also considering Starscourge Radahn as among the stinkiest, considering how he's been basically zombified by Malenia's Scarlet Rot and has probably never taken off his armor in so long - no matter what happens.

Elden Ring is now out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Elden Ring's Popularity At A Glance

Gamers discussing something as trivial as how Elden Ring's bosses smell undeniable proof of just how popular FromSoftware's newest title is.

According to CNET, the game's popularity and appeal were more or less expected. After all, it was made by the same people who made the Dark Souls series - which is one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time. And it is very much an open-world version of those games, coupled with the fact that George R.R. Martin co-wrote it with Hidetaka Miyazaki.

The game's popularity may also have been the result of its reviews. So many publications gave it perfect or near-perfect scores. This then basically conditioned the mind of folks who were curious about the game, convincing them to buy it. And once they fell into the world - they can never get it out of their head.

But even if the game is already pretty popular in its own right, it still has a long way to go from being the most played. According to TechRadar, its playerbase still falls behind giants, including GTA VMinecraft, and Fortnite. Even Call Of Duty Vanguard, which didn't receive good reviews, still has more players than Elden Ring. Although, one might argue that FromSoftware's title overtaking those games is only a matter of time.
