LOOK: Elden Ring Player Beats The Game With A Freaking PIANO

Elden Ring's popularity is just so all-encompassing these days, that people are willing to try things in order to experience it a different way. Other than speedruns, players are also trying out weird controller setups to see whether they can beat the game using those. But none of those setups are this... musical.

A Redditor by the handle Omunchkin13 recently posted a video of him beating Elden Ring using a piano. According to GameRant, the player managed to rig his electric piano not just as a game controller, but still as amusical instrument since it still makes a sound whenever a key is pressed. So with every roll, block, and swing of his Tarnished's weapon, Omunchkin plays a few notes as well with every key stroke.

Omunchkin says it took him "a lot longer than expected" to finally beat Elden Ring on piano. But when he did, it looked pretty convincing s you can see in the video above. His movements were as precise as those of somebody using an atual game controller, free of trying to figure out where his character is supposed to go alongside other control troubles.

You can obviously chalk that down to Omunchkin's skill, whom we assume is a pretty good piano player himself. One commenter even said they think "musicians are naturals at Souls games, because trained' musicians are very much in-tune with weird timings. These timings can translate to delayed attacks a and other movements in FromSoftware's games, which make them even harder than normal.

But either way, programming an Elden Ring piano controller is also a technical feat in itself, considering how that thing is a musical instrument and not made for games at all. According to him, he used a software called Bome Midi translator which likely translated his key presses into actual in-game inputs.

The only troubles he had was the fact that he used the software's free version, meaning he had to reset the software every 20 minutes. This, as per Omunchkin, added to the challenge of the whole thing.

An Elden Ring Piano Controller Is Far From The Only Weird One

In truth, playing and/or Elden Ring (or any other FromSoftware game, for that matter) using a piano is far from the weirdest control setup in this kind of game ever. That's because people have come up with even weirder stuff than this.

One player called SuperLouis64 on Twitter shared a video of him Godrick The Grafted, one of the toughest bosses in the game, using bananas. Yes, you read that right: he used actual, edible bananas to try and fight Godrick.

As per ScreenRant, he made it all work by rigging each banana to work as a specific key on a keyboard. This allowed him to perform attacks, blocks, and dodge rolls among other things "as normal," which led to the pretty impressive feat:
