MultiVersus Tier List 2022: Here Are The Best Characters To Play As

Here's A MultiVersus Tier List To Guide You To Your Next Main

An official MultiVersus tier list for 2022 is an excellent way to help you judge which character to play as in Warner Bros' new Smash-like. But as far as we know, there's no "official" one yet. So this guide of ours will have to do.

In this article, you will see all of the game's characters grouped according to their performance tiers, so you will know who the best MultiVersus characters are as you start your journey. However, take note that there will be different tier lists in here according to multiple sources. So specific characters can be ranked as the best ones in one list, while they might be considered the worst in another.

Now that's out of the way, let's begin!

Tier 1

  • Finn The Human
  • Batman
  • Harley Quinn
  • Superman

Tier 2

  • Shaggy
  • Jake The Dog
  • Bugs Bunny
  • LeBron James

Tier 3

  • Taz
  • Arya Stark
  • Steven Unierse
  • Tom & Jerry
  • Reindog

Tier 4

  • Garnet, Wonder Woman, Velma

Tier 5

  • Iron Giant

The top-tier heroes in the above list were picked, as per The Loadout, according to their mobility, as well as how much damage they can deal all-around. These situations include head-on battles and sneaky situations for Assassin-like characters like Harley and Finn. Batman and Superman are also among the most mobile of all MultiVersus characters, allowing them to get out of sticky situations better than anyone else.

Going down the ladder, Tier 2 MultiVersus characters are considered effective ONLY if you manage to take advantage of their strengths. In other words, they're a little tougher to master and you're going to lose several matches once you start. But when you do master them, they can be as good (if not better) than the first tier.

For Tier 3, 4, and 5, these characters are either too tough for beginners to master or just not good at all. Some, like Tom & Jerry, are simply not effective right now in the current meta. But maybe they will be, down the line.

MultiVersus Tier List Part 2: The Best Characters For Singles & Doubles

Early Game's MultiVersus tier list has them grouping the best characters for 1v2 and 2v2 play. It's an interesting list, but nevertheless useful as not everybody is keen on playing either Doubles or Singles every time.

Doubles List

Tier 1

Velma, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny

Tier 2

Batman, Wonder Woman, Garnet, Finn, LeBron James

Tier 3

Superman, Harley Quinn

Tier 4

Iron Giant, Reindog, Shaggy

Tier 5

Finn, Taz, Steven Universe

Tier 6

Arya Stark

Tier 1 characters are so good, according to Early Game, that you can still dominate a 2v2 even if the one you're playing with isn't too good themselves. But take note that these characters can be quite bad one-on-one, so be sure to complement their abilities with others.

Tier 2 and Tier 3 are both solid character tiers at the moment. They're not stupidly powerful in 2v2s, but they're not that easy to beat either. Furthermore, they can be tough to master for newbies. Some characters like LeBron can be absolute trash in 1v1, but their kit is so obviously focused on team play that they can't be played anywhere else.

As for 4, 5, and 6, their biggest knocks against them are either their poor 1v1 performance, or they're simply not working well in the current meta. Aside from that, their kits can also be extremely tough to master even for skilled players. So as much as possible, stay away.

Singles List

Tier 1

Finn, Harley, Tom & Jerry

Tier 2

Bugs Bunny, Batman, Jake

Tier 3

Shaggy, Superman, Arya Stark, Garnet, LeBron James

Tier 4

Taz, Iron Giant, Wonder Woman

Tier 5

Reindog, Velma

Tier 6

Steven Universe

To cap things off, the best MultiVersus characters for singles in this tier list are great for folks who aren't exactly team players. For the top tier characters, their excellent combination of mobility, damage output, and even a problematic hitbox (i.e Finn being so hard to hit) make them the consensus top picks. They can even be considered too OP that they break the game. Until the nerfs come, that is.

Down the ladder, the self-sufficiency of the characters in this MultiVersus tier list decreases until they're useless in a 1v1. A character like LeBron, for instance, can barely do considerable damage as a solo because his kit is designed for team play. The best thing you can do in a 1v1 with a character like him is annoy a player into rage-quitting.

At the absolute bottom are the characters that either have no sufficient finishing kick or were just designed with 2v2 play in mind.
