Despite not providing an exact release date, Netflix has given fans an idea of the film's story. According to Eurogamer, the story will focus on Geralt of Rivia's investigation on a series of attacks that happen in a seaside village. By doing so, he finds himself in the middle of the conflict between humans and merpeople.

It has also been revealed that the story is based on "A Little Sacrific," a short story by "The Witcher" author Andrzej Sapkowski. Kang Hei Chul will return to direct "Sirens of the Deep" after directing the previous "The Witcher" animated film "Nightmare of the Wolf."

Netflix likewise announced that Doug Cockle, who voices Geralt in the video games, will do so in the animated film as well.

When is the Next Season of the Live Action Series Coming?

"Sirens of the Deep" hopes to keep fans of "The Witcher" satisfied for the meantime, especially as the wait for season four of the live action series continues.

Eurogamer notes in its report that it is unlikely that season four will air before 2025. This is due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes delaying filming for the show.

It should be noted that season four will now star Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. It can be recalled that Henry Cavill departed from the series at the end of the third season.

'The Witcher'

From the live action series and animated films to the video game series, all of these are based on a book series of the same name. The main video game series began in 2007 thanks to the release of The Witcher. A remake of the game has been announced with no definite release date as of press time.

The most recent video game under the series to be released is Roach Race, which was released for iOS and Android in 2022. Prior to that, The Witcher: Monster Slayer was released in 2021, also for iOS and Android. The game was meant to be a prequel to the series. However, it was eventually shut down this year as it did not live up to business expectations.

As for the live action series, the first season arrived on Netflix in 2019. Aside from Cavill, it also stars Freya Allan as Princess Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg.
