Fueled by the Dew

There is a brand-new multiplayer map that's coming to Halo Infinite called Critical Dewpoint. This map is made by the talented ArturBloodShot, who is a current ambassador for Halo and an elite member of the Forge Council. With 16 years of experience making custom maps for the game, Artur knows exactly what players love.

Critical Dewpoint pays homage to Halo 3, as well as Game Fuel. It was created using Halo Infinite's Forge Mode, which is a robust map maker that allows you to tweak various aspects of the game to your liking. You can remake weapons, vehicles, and layouts to your heart's content.

In an interview, Artur said that Forge Mode has enabled him to incorporate the gritty visuals of the game with creative nods to Game Fuel and Mtn Dew. This is evident with the overall green theme of the map. What's more, somewhere on the map, you will find a vending machine that spews out power-ups that may turn the tide of battle.

While some only focus on gunplay, special attention should also be given to the layout. According to Artur, one of the key components of Critical Dewpoint is movement. Sure, there are open areas where you can move unhindered, but those who know how to utilize skill jumps will gain the upper hand in combat. Expect to see ledges all over the map.

The creation of the map is a celebration of the countless hours people have spent on Halo. "That nostalgia is really important to the community because it allows you to reflect on how you started, and how the game has evolved to bring you new experiences while keeping the essence of the thing you love," Artur said.

Critical Dewpoint is launching on November 14 as part of the Halo 3 Refueled Playlist and will run until November 28. If you're busy during this period, do not worry. The maps that will be featured in the playlist will enter general rotation after November 28.

The Halo 3 Refueled Playlists consists of the following maps:

  • Critical Dewpoint (New)

  • Sylvanus (reimagination of Guardian)

  • Domicile (reimagination of Construct)

  • The Pit (remake of The Pit)

  • Isolation (remake of Isolation)

  • High Ground (remake of High Ground)

  • Cliffside (reimagination of Blackout)

  • Banished Narrows (reimagination of Narrows)

The Halo x Game Fuel Connection

For those who do not know, Mtn Dew released Game Fuel back on August 13, 2007, as part of the promotion for Halo 3. It was only available in stores for roughly 12 weeks. However, it was brought back for a brief period in 2012 to promote the launch of Halo 4.

The iconic beverage got its name because it can provide you with fuel to play games for hours. This is thanks to Game Fuel's high caffeine content. Additionally, the popular Citrus Cherry flavor made the drink so addicting, which is why it is a staple amongst the Halo fanbase.

Speaking of which, Game Fuel's Citrus Cherry flavor is now back in stores for a limited time. Also, if you're in for some Halo x Mtn Dew drip, you can head to the Xbox Gear Shop to purchase some.
