A fan-favorite weapon is possibly making a comeback in the upcoming patch for Fortnite as part of the game's 'OG Season'. That weapon is none other than the Kinetic Blade!
According to Wenso, a prominent Fortnite Leaker, the Kinetic Blade and the Quad Launcher might be out of the vault soon, allowing players to cause mayhem in the game once again.

The Forbidden Blade
For those who do not know, the Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon that was first introduced in Fortnite Chapter 4: Season 2. Players can use it to quickly slash their enemies twice for 35 damage. But, the main highlight of the Kinetic Blade is its Dash Attack, where players charge forward to deal 60 damage to those who are hit.
This weapon was quite popular because of an exploit that enabled players to eliminate their opponents without resistance. The exploit involved disconnecting from the internet for a brief period while players slash their opponents with the said weapon. After that, players would just reconnect and all of the damage done is registered to the system.
Things have gotten so bad that developer Epic Games was left with no choice but to disable the Kinetic Blade until it got fixed in a later update.
If what Wenso said is true, the Kinetic Blade may be back in the game, albeit without the bug that allowed people to gain a huge and unfair advantage over others.

OG Season
Fortnite Chapter 4, aka "Season OG," lets players relive the glory days of the game. Each week, the game will be updated to bring back some weapons and gizmos that were seen in previous seasons. The first week starts with content that was available in Chapter 1 Season 5. Fans of the game will have access to some familiar weapons, including the Assault Rifle, Hunting Rifle, and the Pump Shotgun.
Those who want to utilize traps to gain the upper hand may use some returning contraptions, such as the Boogie Bomb and Damage Trap. Players can also utilize the Grappler to move around the map, quickly and in style!
In the second week, players can use items that were available in Chapter 1 Season 6. This includes the Clinger, Six Shooter, and the Double Barrel Shotgun. Players can ride the Quadcrasher and the Driftboard so that they can get to their preferred destination sooner rather than later.
For the upcoming Week 3 update, players may see the return of the Kinetic Blade, assuming that the leak is true. But, even if the fan-favorite melee weapon is not returning, there are other exciting things on offer. This week, players can enjoy content from Seasons 7 and 8, such as the X-4 Stormwing and the Pirate Cannon!
Players have the option of purchasing the OG Pass for 950 V-Bucks as well. They can progress through the season pass by just playing the game.
