Intel is gearing up for the much-anticipated launch of its latest innovation, the Core Ultra Meteor Lake laptops, scheduled for release on December 14, GameRant reports.

These cutting-edge laptops promise a significant boost in CPU, GPU, and AI integration, positioning them as formidable contenders in the tech market.

Meteor Lake Laptops Confirmed

Initially, there were speculations surrounding the fate of the Meteor Lake CPUs desktop variant, with rumors suggesting a cancellation. However, Intel has officially confirmed its arrival for PCs in 2024.

The MSI Prestige AI EVO series will proudly lead the pack as the first laptops equipped with Meteor Lake processors. Positioned to rival Apple's M1 and M2 chips, these laptops aim to make a mark in the industry with their superior performance and innovative features.

Meteor Lake Unveiled

Intel first unveiled the Core Ultra Meteor Lake CPUs in a comprehensive Roadmaps and Milestones document published in February 2022. 

This revelation hinted at several enhancements, including improvements to the CPU, GPU, and other accelerators. Notably, the CPUs boast AI integration and a groundbreaking multi-chip GPU architecture, promising discrete graphics-class performance.

Industry insiders leaked the Meteor Lake CPU names on social media, providing enthusiasts with a glimpse into the Core Ultra lineup. To add to the excitement, Intel has revamped its CPU naming convention, dropping the letter 'i' from tiering and introducing a new processor numbering system.

Initially designed as mobile-only processors, there were concerns about the fate of the desktop variants. However, Intel put these rumors to rest, confirming the release of Meteor Lake-S Desktop CPUs in 2024. 

With the imminent release of the Intel Core Ultra Meteor Lake CPUs, online retailers are already listing the first wave of Meteor Lake laptops set to hit the market on December 18.

MSI Prestige AI EVO

According to online listings spotted by GameRant, the MSI Prestige AI EVO series will spearhead the launch, featuring 13" and 16" variants equipped with Core Ultra 5 125H and Core Ultra 7 155H CPUs. These laptops are expected to deliver a superior computing experience, leveraging on-package LPDDR5X memory.

Additional series, including Prestige AI Studio, Stealth AI Studio, Stealth AI, and CreatorPro AI Studio, are on the horizon. With enhanced performance and a focus on competing against Apple's M1 and M2 chips, these laptops aim to cater to a diverse range of user needs.

Affordability and Performance

Recent leaks from Newegg US and a tweet by @momomo_us shed light on the pricing and specifications of the upcoming laptops (via Digitaltrends). 

Among the anticipated offerings, the MSI Prestige 13 is the most affordable option, starting at $1,049 for a configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

These laptops, powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 CPUs, boast top-tier features such as 6400 MHz DDR5 memory and OLED displays with impressive color gamut capabilities.

Despite the absence of dedicated GPUs, Intel promises that the integrated Arc Alchemist-based GPU will easily handle content creation and light gaming, supporting modern features like ray tracing and DX12 Ultimate.
