Meta Quest headset owners who have been eagerly awaiting Xbox Cloud Gaming to come to the platform can now rejoice! That's because they can now stream and play their favorite Xbox games by downloading the latest software update.

Xbox Gaming Has Arrived

So, how exactly do people play Xbox games using their Meta Quest headsets? Well, they have to satisfy a few requirements. First, there is a software update that was pushed by Meta to include support for the said feature.

Second, Meta Quest users must download the Xbox Cloud Gaming app. The application is still in beta, so users might experience some bugs here and there. This is available for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro headsets.

And third, those who want to get into Xbox Cloud Gaming must have an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Fortunately, Microsoft is offering the service for $1 for those who want to try it out for a couple of weeks. If they are satisfied, they can continue with the service, albeit they have to pay $16.99 after the trial period.

While owners of Meta Quest headsets can utilize their VR controllers, they do have the option of using certain gamepads. Some compatible controllers include the recent Xbox wireless controllers, Nintendo Switch Pro controllers, PlayStation 4's DualShock 4 controller, among many others. Take note that Meta Quest headsets do not have support for PlayStation 5's DualSense controller yet. But, the company may include support for it in the near future.

In addition, the company recommends that those who want to use Xbox Cloud Gaming have at least a 20 Mbps internet connection to enjoy a much smoother experience.

Keep in mind that because players are basically streaming and playing games from the Cloud, they should expect some input lag and a bit of latency. The good news is that those who have already tried the service have reported that the games work really well.
