Throne and Liberty, the open-world MMORPG developed by the South Korean development studio NCSoft, has received a new update that introduced the weapon transmog system.

Make Weapons Look Cooler

Transmog (short for Transmogrification) is a feature in games that allows players to change the appearance of an item without affecting its stats. In the latest patch for Throne and Liberty, a new transmog feature has been added that lets players change the look of their weapons to something that is a lot cooler.

Right now, players can only change the appearance of their weapons to any of the "Glacia" skins depending on the type of weapon they are currently wearing.

The Glacia Long Sword, for example, looks really cool (pun intended) as the sword is shimmering with an icy glow and the shield has some frozen spikes protruding from the center.

Players who are interested in trying the new weapon transmog feature out can head to Mirror Boutique and select "Weapon Appearance."

New Events

NCSoft also added new events to keep Throne and Liberty players busy. The "Moonlight Spell Removal" is a new event where players can fight the field boss "Kowanzuki" when performing a ritual in the Gray Claw Forest. This ritual can only be done at night.

Players who want to marvel at the new Lizard Island can head there by boarding the gigantic flying mount called the Gigantrite. Gigantrites can be boarded in the following locations:

  • Ruins of the Giants

  • Starlight Observatory

  • Veder Observatory

  • Tower of Purification

On Sundays at 10 PM, players can go to the Sandworm Hideout to face the first archboss in Throne and Liberty, Queen Blendy. Information about this boss is scarce at the moment, but players need to be ready because this encounter looks like it is not going to be a walk in the park.

New Features

The company has implemented a number of features and quality-of-life improvements in the recent update as well. Classic Mode is a feature that lets players move to a target location just by clicking at a specific spot twice. On the other hand, Action Mode enables players to look around the surroundings by pressing the Alt Key and manipulating the mouse cursor however they want.

Players will also know what the current time is by looking at the new clock that is displayed prominently on the world map. Those who were clamoring for a way to adjust environmental sounds separate from other in-game sounds can now do so in the aptly named "Sound" section in the settings.

Here are the other improvements:

  • Improved content notifications

    • The shape of the mark for guild requests has been simplified.

    • When a mission is completed or a new item is registered among the items registered in the content notification, the item is scrolled to be visible.

  • Map UI

    • Minimap zoom in/out and transparency settings have been improved to be saved.

    • Simplified approach to transparency setting function

    • Hunting ground information has been improved to be maintained even when a pin is placed or the map is zoomed in/out.

  • Bag and Item UI

    • We have strengthened awareness of selectable items by strengthening the expression of items that cannot be sold/purchased/used.

    • Shortcut keys have been added to confirm/cancel with [Y], [N], [Enter], and [ESC] when performing the box opening, melting, and pop-up functions in the bag.

    • Added the ability to view detailed items in item tooltips

    • The name of the guide has been changed to 'View detailed figures' > 'View enhanced figures'.

Throne and Liberty is available on PC.
