Released on February 10, 2016, Firewatch is developed by Campo Santo, who also published the game along with Panic. The game is set in the year of 1989 in the wilderness of Wyoming. You take on the role of Henry, who works as a fire lookout in the wilderness after leaving his messy life behind.

Henry's only connection to the world beyond the wilderness is his supervisor, Delilah, who you can communicate with at all times over a small, handheld radio. However, something from the wilderness will eventually pull you out of the lookout tower, and the choices you make will either make or break your relationship with Delilah.

"Firewatch was an emotionally and mentally manipulative (in the best way possible) story with a fantastic and polished style as well as a wonderfully quaint atmosphere," says user Monotone Sandwich is a separate Steam review. "I think about Firewatch at least once a day, where it may be staring off into the wall or just enjoying a cup of tea."

"This game has genuinely burrowed its way in and stuck somewhere in my mind, and for good reason too; It tells a tale of standard 'video game expectations' and the contrast between reality," Monotone sandwich explains. "The ending is unsatisfying and painful, but so was the start."
