Ubisoft Montpellier, the development team behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, has revealed a keen interest in working on a spinoff game within the Legend of Zelda universe. Eagerness to Craft Zelda Spinoff

During a Q&A session on the Metroidvania subreddit, developers from Ubisoft Montpellier, creators of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, discussed their aspirations beyond the current project. In response to a fan's question about creating a game for a different series or intellectual property (IP), Rémi Boutin, the senior game designer, expressed eagerness to collaborate with the Legend of Zelda IP.

Boutin's mention of a potential "strange spin-off based on Adventure of Link" adds an intriguing layer to their creative ambitions. While not a confirmation of their next project, this insight highlights the team's openness to exploring diverse gaming universes, as seen in their recent work on The Lost Crown, a Metroidvania title.

A Dream Collaboration: Navigating the Possibilities

Collaborations between major gaming studios and established franchises are not uncommon, and Ubisoft's history of working with Nintendo in the Mario + Rabbids games adds an interesting dimension to this revelation. Although there is no concrete indication of a Prince of Persia and Legend of Zelda crossover, the positive relationship between Ubisoft and Nintendo opens the door to exciting possibilities. While Nintendo tends to be selective about collaborations involving its IPs, the previous success with Ubisoft makes the prospect intriguing and worth considering.

As fans eagerly await further developments, the idea of a Legend of Zelda spinoff from the creators of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown remains an exciting and plausible concept.
