Nintendo has announced this morning a new lower price for five of its best-selling 3DS titles. Starting April 22, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will be available for $29.99 each, $10 off their usual price.

These five games have sold more the 9 million combined physical and digital units in the United States alone. In fact the top three best-selling 3DS games of all time are Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. 2, in that order. Each has sold more than 2.15 million copies and being that there are over 11.5 million 3DS systems in the U.S. alone there's a decent chance you might own one if you own a 3DS, but these are permanent lower prices for these titles. They'll be available both in the Nintendo 3DS shop and in retail prices for the same price.

If you don't own a 3DS, what are you waiting for? It's a great little system with a ton of quality titles for it, and they're getting cheaper all the time. The 3DS XL version is the way to go if you want one now- there's no going back to the smaller screen after you've experienced it.

Amazon right now is having a sale on 3DS XL units, both the regular system and the Mario and Luigi Dream Team Bundle, which both selling for a few bucks over $180. That's a steal on a system with such a fantastic library of games. Plus, you have to prepare yourself for Tomodachi Life!
