Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been out for a week now, so the community had enough time to play the new game from Rocksteady Studios to form an opinion. This is the company responsible for establishing the popular Batman: Arkham universe. However, despite the company's good reputation, it seems that Rocksteady's latest offering is not well-received, with players pointing out one glaring issue - the game's lack of variety.

Same Old Stuff

The missions in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are pretty bland and boring. While there are certainly a ton of missions to complete in the game, they are mostly of the same type, with some minor differences to help distinguish them from one another.

For instance, escort-type missions are almost exactly the same, except for the characters that players have to guard until the vehicle reaches its destination.

Redditor ArkhamsDeadite said it best when they said that the missions do not feel "connected" to the main plot.

The only time that the game presents something interesting is when players have to fight the members of the Justice League.

For those who do not know, Earth's mightiest heroes, including The Flash, Green Lantern, Batman, and Superman, are all mind-controlled by Braniac in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

It is not only the in-game missions that lack variety, but the enemies that players will encounter throughout Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are almost exactly the same as well.

Is the Game Salvageable?

With the glaring issues presented, is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League still salvageable? The simple answer is it depends. If we are talking about the missions themselves, Rocksteady Studios will have to put in a lot of time and resources to do an overhaul.

The missions are good and enjoyable the first time. However, once players have been able to spend several hours into the game, they will realize that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League just repeats the same loop Ad Nauseam.

How about the map design and traversal mechanic? Each member of the Suicide Squad has different moves that they can initiate to move around the map. The problem is that because the game heavily relies on the traversal mechanic, it is impossible to fully utilize indoor locations.

Weapon diversity is also severely lacking and Rocksteady really did a bad job of making each character stand out in this regard. For example, players might think that Captain Boomerang uses only his deadly boomerangs to deal with the enemy, right? After all, it is in his name. But no, Captain Boomerang utilizes guns instead of the weapon type he is best known for.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League suffers from a lack of variety that Rocksteady might not be able to fix with updates.

But what do you think? Do you believe that the game can still be salvaged with new content and patches later down the line? Or do you think that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is dead after a month or two?
