5 Things That Every Helldivers 2 Beginner Should Know

Ever since Helldivers 2 was released, it has become so popular that it garnered more than 200,000 players on Steam. This does not include the numbers on PlayStation 5, but it is safe to assume that it is more than six digits as well.

If you are thinking of getting in on the action, read this article first. For today, I am going to give you the five things that every Helldivers 2 beginner should know about.

Everything is Destructible

There are some games where not all things you see are destructible, but that is not the case here. In Helldivers 2, if you can shoot it, you can destroy it! For example, if you see the Automaton drop ships getting ready to deploy their mechs on the battlefield, you can actually shoot their engines before they even have a chance to land. Once you see the enemy, be sure to fire at them first because any advantage you can get goes a long way!

Hold Reload to Shift Weapon Properties

Did you know that if you press and hold the reload button in Helldivers 2, you can bring up a menu that lets you change your weapon's properties? That's right! If you are using the ever-trusty machine gun, you can set it to fire at an even faster rate by doing this. Experiment with the other weapons in the game and find out their hidden abilities.

Use Grenades to Deal with Nests

Grenades in the game pack some serious punch, so much so that you can actually use them to plug the many bug nests on the battlefield. If you encounter these nests, throw grenades at them to deal with the bug infestation.

Protect Yourself

Orbital bombardments are a crucial part of Helldivers 2 because they enable you to get rid of a lot of enemies in one fell swoop. That said, initiating a bombing sequence takes time and if you are not careful, the enemy might come in to kill you before that happens. So, to protect yourself, use the Shield Generator Relay whenever you call for orbital bombardments.

Utilize Stratagems Often

Stratagems in Helldivers 2 provide you with some much-needed help when the going gets tough. They allow you to call your command ship to initiate certain things depending on which Stratagem you use.

For instance, the A/MLS-4X Rocket Sentry is a great defensive Stratagem to use for larger targets and tougher enemies.

Do not be too stingy, use your Stratagems often, especially when they are off cooldown.
