Here's a straightforward guide to effortlessly switch between characters, ensuring you make the most of your preferred fighting styles and tactics.

How to Change Characters

In Granblue Fantasy: Relink, character switching isn't a breeze during quests. Unlike some other action RPGs, the game restricts players from freely changing characters within their chosen party during a quest. When playing solo, your control is limited to the party leader, positioned at the top of your Party list.

To switch characters, open the Pause menu and head to Party. Change the character in the left-most slot to alter the current party leader. Successful execution is confirmed if the character you control in hub areas changes to the selected party leader. Keep in mind that during the story campaign, the Captain must remain in the party, even if controlled by the game's AI.

How to Switch Between Captains

Many players are unaware that they can seamlessly swap between Gran and Djeeta at any point in the game without adjusting their build. To change your preferred Captain:

Navigate to the Party menu.
Select any party member slot.
Choose the Captain.
Press 4/Y/Triangle to access the Character Details screen.
Press 4/Y/Triangle again to open the Character Customization screen.
Select your preferred Captain, choose their color scheme, and outfit.

It's worth noting that, as of the current state of the game, character customization (beyond color selection) is limited to the Captain and Siegfried, the latter of whom can wear his helmet. The potential for other characters receiving costumes remains uncertain, but developers have plans to support the game post-launch, with a major update scheduled for April.
