Missions and Hero Mastery Cards Switched Places

The menu change came with a big update halfway through Season 9 of Overwatch 2. This update added a new co-op challenge mode called Hero Mastery: Gauntlet, where players fight AI enemies. But PvE players are worried because the Mission button, which leads to the story missions, is now harder to find.

This change makes it seem like Overwatch 2 is prioritizing Hero Mastery over Story Missions.

The History of PvE in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 promised a lot of PvE content, like Story Missions and Hero Missions. But the game's PvE plans have had problems. In 2023, Overwatch 2 canceled many PvE plans, casting doubt on the future of its co-op content. However, the first set of Story Missions was eventually released in Season 6.But now, with the menu change and the recent layoffs at Blizzard, PvE players are worried about the future of Story Missions.

It's not clear yet what Blizzard plans to do with Story Missions in Overwatch 2. But for now, players hope that the game will still have good PvE content in the future
