Dragon's Dogma 2: Tackling Dragonsplague Pandemic – Saving Pawns from Dire Consequences

In Dragon's Dogma 2, a new challenge has arisen that has players intrigued: Dragonsplague. This strange condition can affect the Pawns, the AI-controlled companions in the game, and its origins have caught the attention of gamers.

A Serious Threat

Players believe that Pawns can catch Dragonsplague after fighting dragons, and it can also spread between Pawns. Ignoring this sickness can lead to severe consequences, as warned by the game's developer, Capcom. Dragonsplague is described as a contagious disease-like condition that affects Pawns as they travel through different worlds within the game.

According to Capcom, Pawns with Dragonsplague may initially show improved performance and bold behavior. However, there are fears that as the illness progresses, it could lead to catastrophic events, although the truth behind these claims remains uncertain.

Strategies for Survival

While some players haven't experienced Dragonsplague firsthand, there's plenty of evidence from others showing its spread. If a player fails to help an infected Pawn in time, they may transform into a demonic ghost dragon, leading to alarming consequences such as the death of every NPC in a town.

Fortunately, players have found ways to handle Dragonsplague. While there's no known in-game cure, strategies include removing infected Pawns from the party to prevent further spread or forfeiting them to the Rift, a mystical realm within the game. Some players also use wakestones to revive impacted NPCs.

How to Cure Dragonsplague

Currently, there are only two methods to deal with Dragonsplague: allowing the infected Pawn to pass on the disease to another Pawn or forfeiting them to the Rift entirely. While waiting for one Pawn to pass on Dragonsplague to another seems uncertain and risky, players can swiftly address the issue through other means.

"Forfeiting" a Pawn involves dismissing them or having them killed in action, effectively sending them back to the Rift. This prevents further spread of Dragonsplague among companions. If dismissal isn't possible, players can resort to unconventional methods like throwing the infected Pawn into deep water, where mystical creatures called the Brine will take them away.
