Rebirth Island Returns in Call of Duty: Warzone, Featuring Map Changes, New Weapons

Call of Duty: Warzone released a new trailer showcasing its Rebirth Island which will be making a comeback with the launch of Season 3 on Apr. 3, 2024.

The game's publisher, Activision, released the new trailer to showcase the upcoming map and players saw a few changes that were made to the island, and a new sniper rifle was teased. The Rebirth Island has not been featured in the console or PC version of Call of Duty: Warzone since the launch of Warzone 2.

Additionally, while the layout of the island remains mostly the same with familiar points of interest, the map itself is not the same as it was last seen. The beginning of the newly released trailer shows operators popping flares and swimming in underwater tunnels.

This suggests that there will be sneaky new ways to move around the map and another major change is that the island's lighthouse has fallen, which has caused damage to the popular Prison POI, according to GameSpot.

Several leakers have also suggested beforehand that Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 3 will include new weapons that were from 2014's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The ending of the trailer seemingly confirmed at least one of the guns, which looked to be the MORS sniper rifle from the previous game.

For players who do not want to play Rebirth Island on Apr. 3, the map is currently available in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile with cross-progression. They can jump into the new island and experience the changes that have been implemented.

A first glimpse of the returning map was initially shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday with the caption, "Rebirth Island returns on April 3." The image showed map locations, namely; Dock, Industry, Chemical Engineering, Prison, Harbor, Control Center, Headquarters, Factory, Stronghold, and Living Quarters.

New Weapons in the Latest Update

While the majority of information regarding the new map update is still unreleased, Season 3 is expected to last around eight weeks if it were to follow Warzone's previous seasons' formats. The time would include a mid-season refresh after the first four weeks. This would introduce the next batch of updates that could add more weapons, said the Hindustan Times.

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale game that was jointly developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software and serves as a sequel to the original Warzone that was released in 2020. It gives players a chance to dive into large-scale, intense combat experiences that span across different game modes.

Players have the option of choosing from a diverse array of customizable loadouts before dropping onto the map from a transport plane. After they are on the ground, they must scavenge for weapons, equipment, and resources while strategically navigating the dynamically shrinking play area in order to beat their opponents.

Rebirth Island was introduced as part of Season One of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War integration into Warzone. It quickly became a favorite among fans due to its intense gameplay and unique setting. The map features small-scale and concentrated action, according to GameRant.
