Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Settles Cloud's Love Story with Canon Choice

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, released after four years of anticipation since the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Remake in 2020, has reintroduced players to iconic scenes from the original game, including the beloved Gold Saucer dates. These scenes, determined by the player's choices and relationships with party members, have been reimagined in Rebirth with enhanced depth and emotion.

Clarity Amidst Controversy

Of particular significance is the Gold Saucer date with Tifa, which unequivocally depicts a romantic connection between Cloud and Tifa. The scene portrays intimate dialogue between the two characters, culminating in a tender moment of hand-holding, embrace, and a kiss. In contrast, Cloud's interactions with Aerith during their date exhibit romantic tension but lack the same clarity and depth found in his interactions with Tifa.

It's worth noting that players may also experience alternative scenarios, such as riding the Ferris wheel with Barrett or Red XIII, adding to the dynamic nature of the game's relationships.

Addressing Long-standing Arguments

Since the release of Final Fantasy 7 and especially after the Remake, fans have fervently debated whether Aerith or Tifa is Cloud's true love interest. However, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's portrayal of the Gold Saucer dates decisively settles this debate, underscoring the romantic bond between Cloud and Tifa.

While fans are entitled to their preferred interpretations and pairings, the narrative direction taken in Rebirth significantly challenges arguments favoring Aerith as Cloud's primary romantic interest.
