Fortnite's Hand Cannon Makes Comeback, Tests Players' Patience

In the latest Fortnite update (29.10), Epic Games brought back a fan-favorite weapon, the Hand Cannon, from the vault. However, what should have been a cause for celebration among players has instead become a source of frustration and challenge.

The Elusive Hand Cannon

Despite its return, many players are struggling to find the Hand Cannon in-game. The spawn rate of this powerful pistol appears to be exceedingly low, leading some to question its existence altogether. Players are reporting minimal encounters with the Hand Cannon since its reintroduction, with some estimating sightings as rare as three times since its release.

The Challenge of Acquisition

Compounding the issue is a weekly challenge that tasks players with achieving two headshots using the Hand Cannon. While the challenge itself might seem straightforward, the scarcity of the weapon presents a significant obstacle. Even if players manage to locate the Hand Cannon, the task of securing two headshots with its rapid firing speed poses a considerable challenge.

Community Feedback

Unsurprisingly, the Fortnite community has voiced its frustration with the situation. Many players have taken to forums and social media platforms to express their discontent, highlighting the difficulty of completing a challenge reliant on such a rare and elusive item.

Some players have suggested that Epic Games should implement measures to facilitate the acquisition of the Hand Cannon, such as making it purchasable from in-game NPCs or vending machines. They argue that locking essential challenges behind such scarce resources undermines the overall enjoyment of the game.
