The Vision for The Witcher 4

Nowakowski made it clear that The Witcher 4 would not be a mere continuation or reimagining of The Witcher 3. Instead, the game aims to introduce fresh gameplay elements and mechanics, setting it apart from previous entries in the series. While acknowledging the inherent risks of innovation, Nowakowski expressed confidence in the team's ability to deliver an experience that goes beyond fans' expectations.

"We're trying to push new boundaries and explore new fields; that's something we haven't actually done before," Nowakowski stated. He emphasized that players should not expect "The Witcher 3 in new clothing," hinting at the development team's ambitious plans for the game.

Release Date and Development Progress

While Nowakowski remained tight-lipped about a specific release date for The Witcher 4, he did provide insight into the game's development status. Describing it as CD Projekt's "most developed" project, he revealed that The Witcher 4 is currently in pre-production, with full production slated to begin in the second half of 2024. With over 400 individuals dedicated to its development, the project is making significant strides forward.

Despite the lack of a confirmed release window, management previously suggested that The Witcher 4 could arrive no earlier than 2025. However, Nowakowski reiterated that unveiling release dates is part of the company's marketing strategy, and such details will be revealed in due course.
