Remnant II is launching its newest DLC, "The Forgotten Kingdom," on Apr. 23, 2024, and will have a price of $9.99 to add a lot of new content to the base game.

In the new content drop, Remnant II will have players piece together the forgotten history of the lost tribe of Yaesha as they try to quell the vengeful wrath of an ancient stone spirit known as Lydusa.

Players will have to navigate the lingering traces of torment, treachery, and death that haunt the land's previously proud ziggurats. This is as Lydusa's living stones continue to wander the crumbling remnants of an ancient civilization in search of fresh blood.

The DLC will feature a brand new storyline where players will have to uncover the secrets of the lost tribe by exploring a mysterious new area. The region has new dungeons and powerful gear that players can find, including a new Archetype, "The Invoker," according to Gematsu.

Players will be able to meet unexpected allies and face brand new threats in their quest to return some semblance of peace to the forgotten kingdom. The new Archetype draws strength from the Nature Spirits of Yaesha and is able to harness the mystic power of the jungle. More details regarding The Invoker will be shown in a reveal trailer next week.

On top of the new content that makes players stronger, the new DLC will add mysterious threats and survivors of unknown origin. All of these will band together to bring new challenges for all players.

The game's first expansion was the Awakened King and was the first of many new content drops that made the title even more fleshed out. Remnant II operates on a procedurally arranged system of dungeons and storylines and while the majority of the game's worlds are crafted by hand, the order in which players experience them is random.

Adding New Content

The first expansion set had a set story that players could through, known as a "one shot," but also added boss fights, dungeons, and zones as potential destinations in Losomn. The newest DLC carries on the tradition by adding the verdant jungle of Yaesha filled with big bad Root and Satyrs, said PCGamer.

The principal designer of the game, Ben Cureton, said that just like in The Awakened King, the new area in The Forgotten Kingdom tells more of the story of Yaesha. What was most striking to some players who were able to get early in-game footage was that the new expansion focused more on verticality.

One of the new mini-bosses that will be added in The Forgotten Kingdom DLC is the Cinderclad Monolith, which is a being that was forged of living stone, molten embed, and a giant inner crystal. It will keep players on their toes using its devastating sand-based attacks, extensive rock tendril, and powerful ranged abilities that utilize molten earth.

The new DLC is said to be comparable to the Awakened King content in terms of length, which would roughly be around three to four hours. However, it cannot be completed 100% in a player's first playthrough, according to GameRant.
