Sephiroth is and has always been a formidable foe, given that he is Cloud's arch-nemesis in the Final Fantasy franchise. In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, he can perform a number of different slashes and swipes using his extremely long nodachi.

While none of the boss' attacks are particularly dangerous on their own, he can perform a series of them quickly, which makes for a threatening volley. If players are caught unaware, they might see their health drop as quickly as Sephiroth can slash Cloud away, according to IGN.

Having Zack to help you will give you the ability to perfect block Sephiroth's numerous attacks, which will let players build up stagger faster than they normally would. The boss can also launch directly up into the air before striking down with a powerful downward thrust that causes shockwaves.

Sephiroth also has a backward dash that he follows up with a forward lunge as he glides through the arena in a stabbing motion. He can also shoot energy waves while keeping his distance. Both of these attacks can be dodged relatively easily if you are fast enough.

What players need to be wary of is Sephiroth's "Skewer" attack where he will disappear briefly before reappearing next to you and stabbing upward. You need to time your dodge to happen immediately as the boss reappears beside you.

An ideal strategy is to switch back and forth between Cloud and Zack, having the yellow-haired protagonist draw aggro before using Zack to charge his Buster Sword. Level 1 allows the use of Chain Slash, Level 2 allows the use of Meteor Shots and a more powerful version of Chain Slash, and Level 3 allows the use of high Braver or the most powerful versions of the other two attacks, said Eurogamer.

The Second Phase

When you beat Sephiroth, the next phase begins and Cloud will now have to fight the one-winged angel by himself. On top of that, things get worse as the boss enters his new form, Sephiroth Reborn.

Sephiroth rides a towering ensemble of himself that can launch devastating attacks. Fortunately, the statue has a glaring weakness, the glowing spot at the bottom of its body is what players should focus their attacks on.

This particular phase of the boss fight will switch points of view between the original party members, Cloud and Zack. While the yellow-haired protagonist will be by himself, Zack will be at the church from his world. The party members will be located in the city of ancients.

Cloud will be met with a wing attack that cannot be dodged and Sephiroth Reborn will then send black tornados around the battlefield. After damaging the weak spot enough, a cutscene will play out and you will have to climb the body of the statue according to EscapistMagazine.

After attacking the main head at the top, players will have to fight the upper half of Sephiroth Reborn and bring its health down while dodging long-range attacks. After enough damage, another cutscene follows to change the point of view of the other party members.

Fighting Bahamut

They will have to fight Bahamut Arisen Whisper and also take out Sephiroth's wings at the same time using Tifa, Barrett, and Cait Sith. The Bahamut has access to powerful ranged attacks and the wings will heal it and they must be taken out at this time.

You will then control Zack, who will have to stand inside a magic circle that Aerith makes to create a floating sphere. You will need to hit that sphere until it does its own version of staggering Sephiroth.

Players will then take control of Yuffie, Barret, and Red XIII to take out Sephiroth's wings using Spells to take down the golden barrier that is protecting the boss' core. Pay attention to the wings' colors as they indicate what element they will use.

One Last Battle

After defeating Sephiroth Reborn, you will have to take on the base version of the boss one last time. However, Aerith now joins and helps Cloud against the one-winged angel. This part of the battle will include mechanics from the first two forms, the most dangerous of which are the Whispers.

When the boss uses "Whisper Whirlwind," quickly attacks Masamune, which is planted in the ground, in order to cancel out the attack. Sephiroth can bring you down to 1 health using "Heartless Angel," so make sure you have enough healing potions or spells.

Sephiroth's final attack will send out a stream of Whispers from both of his arms and attacking him during this time will leave him staggered and will end the fight once and for all.
