NBA Superstars Revives Classic NBA Jam Excitement in Arcades

In 1993, the original NBA Jam changed arcade sports forever. With high-flying dunks, flaming basketballs, and famous players, it became a favorite in arcades. Though the series has been quiet since its last release in 2011, a new game called NBA Superstars is bringing back the excitement. Play Mechanix and Raw Thrills have teamed up with the NBA and the NBA Players Association to create this new arcade experience.

Return of the Classic Arcade Action

NBA Superstars offers 3v3 arcade basketball, featuring all 30 NBA teams and 120 top players. Fans can play as stars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The game supports up to four players and promises the same thrilling dunks, tough defense, and long-distance shots that made NBA Jam famous. With the inclusion of Tim Kitzrow, the original announcer, the game brings back the nostalgic feel of NBA Jam.

Modern Features with a Nostalgic Touch

NBA Superstars includes a Superstar Mode, where players can compete for MVP honors. Players can track their stats over multiple games with free online accounts using QR codes. The game's arcade cabinet features a fully animated LED stadium scoreboard, a 75-inch screen, and colorful LED lights matching team colors. This summer, the cabinet will hit arcades, bringing a modern touch to the classic game.

For now, there is no news about a home console release. Fans of the original NBA Jam will have to visit arcades to relive the excitement. Check out the trailer to see more about NBA Superstars and get a glimpse of the action that awaits in arcades.
