There Will Be a 'Justice League' Movie After 'Batman vs. Superman,' According To a Warner Bros. Executive

The Justice League Movie Is Finally Happening After Batman vs. Superman

Batman vs. Superman is set to come out in two years, but there were some people speculating that the movie might just be a full-on Justice League movie after the casting of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Well, that theory has now been squashed, as The Wall Street Journal reports that the Justice League will have its own movie separate from Batman vs. Superman. The Journal interviewed Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman, who gave some insight into the company's plans with Superman and friends going forward.

"It will be a further expansion of this universe," Silverman told the Journal. "Superman vs. Batman will lead into Justice League."

Well, now I'm excited. Although I'll be cautiously optimistic until I can see just how well Zack Snyder pulls off Batman vs. Superman, as he will also be directing the JLA movie. How about some more details?

"A script is still in development and Warner has not set a release date, though the movie is unlikely to come out before 2018," the Journal reports. "Mr. Silverman would not comment on what other heroes might join Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in the movie. However the studio has recently been casting the role of Cyborg, a half-robotic hero who is expected to have a cameo in Batman vs. Superman and then appear in Justice League. Other DC heroes who have been in Justice League comic books include Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern."

It'll be interesting to see if DC tries to do what Marvel has done and cross TV with the movies, which could integrate Green Arrow of Arrow and the Flash from the upcoming Flash TV series into the movie seamlessly, without the need for intros cluttering up Batman vs. Superman or Justice League.

There's still tons of time between now and 2016's Batman vs Superman and certainly a lot of time between now and 2018's Justice League, so we're in for a lot of speculation between now and then. Brace yourself, and let us know which DC heroes you want to see on the big screen.
