The Epic Games Store announced its first wave of free games for December 2025 as part of the annual holiday season giveaway of the company for its fans.

Epic Games Store Unveils Free Games of December 2025

The Epic Games Store has unveiled the two free games to start their December 2025 giveaway for users, with the pair of titles set to be available starting next week.

Users only need to have an Epic Games account and be members of the service to claim the free titles, with the company guaranteeing that the games will be theirs to own.

The two free games revealed to kick things off for this holiday 2025 giveaway are "The Darkside Detective" and "The Jackbox Party Pack 4," and Epic Games will be offering the base version of each game.

According to ComicBook Gaming, both of these titles were originally released in 2017 and have a total of $40 worth of savings based on their listed price in the Epic Games Store.

The Epic Games Store recently offered free titles to claim on the PC platform for the November 2025 giveaway, featuring "Godzilla Voxel Wars" and "Zoetti," whose claiming period ended on November 27.

That said, there was another title that the company made available to claim for free from November 27 to December 4, which was "Universe For Sale."

The Darkside Detective

"The Darkside Detective" was developed by Spooky Doorway and published by Akupara Games, and was originally released in 2017.

Apixel-style point-and-click adventure game, it revolves around the story of the fictional Twin Lakes. Here, players take on the role of a detective of the Darkside Division to investigate the bizarre and unusual events that took place in Twin Lakes.

According to the Epic Games Store, the freebie game would feature the "COMPLETE SEASON ONE" collection of this point-and-click game.

The game offers controller support and is available for the Windows PC and Mac platforms via the Epic Games Store. The game also has the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) 7+ rating.

Epic Player Ratings for the game received an outstanding 4.8 stars, with many players praising the game's humor, horror, puzzles, and character development.

The Jackbox Party Pack 4

On the other hand, the Epic Games Store is also offering "The Jackbox Party Pack 4" as its second free game for the first week of freebies this giveaway season. The game, developed and published by Jackbox Games, was originally released in 2017 and is available for the Windows PC and Mac platforms.

"The Jackbox Party Pack 4" is a party game, with the franchise offering "FIVE AND A HALF" games to enjoy with friends, family, or colleagues. The games range from two to eight multiplayer setups, featuring various trivia games to enjoy.
