There's good news for "Stardew Valley" fans as creator and developer ConcernedApe recently addressed the new update and port coming for the nearly decade-old game.

'Stardew Valley' Update 1.7 Sneak Peek

Fans have been lobbing their questions to ConcernedApe via replies to his previous posts on X, with one fan asking about the release of "Stardew Valley's" update version 1.7 that the developer announced earlier this year.

The fan asked ConcernedApe for any information or teasers on update 1.7 so they could have something to look forward to for the game.

However, ConcernedApe only shared a small sneak peek into what update 1.7 will bring, claiming that users should expect "more character/social stuff," as well as his tradition to add a new farm type to the game.

These features ConcernedApe mentioned are only a few of the many new experiences that are coming with "Stardew Valley's" update 1.7, with the creator stating that they do not want to reveal a lot about it yet.

For now, these are the only teasers Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) wants to divulge about update 1.7, and based on what he said, there would be a lot to look forward to from this upcoming version.

Historically, Barone has been skimpy on the details about "Stardew Valley" updates that he releases, only sharing full, detailed reports on what it offers once it is available via the patch notes.

ConcernedApe did not talk about or mention anything about the update 1.7's timeline, and many fans are still left wondering when the next version will drop. Some fans are hopeful that it will come this Christmas, but others doubt it.

'Stardew Valley' Nintendo Switch 2 Port

Another user replied to ConcernedApe's thread, which confirmed the development of update 1.7 for "Stardew Valley." The fan asked about any details behind the Nintendo Switch 2 port of "Stardew Valley," which the developer previously mentioned.

Barone only said that he will "announce something very soon" and then proceeded to apologize for the long wait for this version to come out.

While there are no exact details yet on the Nintendo Switch 2's native port of "Stardew Valley," Barone's latest statement confirmed that more details behind it will be unveiled soon.

According to GameRant, previous speculations claimed that "Stardew Valley's" Switch 2 port is expected to drop around fall of 2025.

That said, it is important to note that Barone's next update may only talk about the release date of the Switch 2 port and the enhancements made for the console. There's still a chance that the port may come at a later date.

For now, ConcernedApe is working on many projects, which include "Stardew Valley's" update 1.7 and the Switch 2 port, alongside his work on the much-awaited spiritual successor of the farm-sim game, "Haunted Chocolatier."
