'Pokémon Wind and Waves': Could Eevee Finally Get a Long-Awaited Flying Evolution in 2027?

Eeveelution fans deserve to see a new variant after almost 13 years.

It's hard to be a "Pokémon Winds & Waves" fan right now. You're bearing with two headaches at the same time: speculating on the final evolutions of the new starters and thinking about the next Eevee evolution.

It will still take some time before the Generation 10 game arrives, and yet, fans couldn't help but think of the fresh mechanics in the game. The open-world experience across multiple islands is also promising, but before the ambitious adventure, let's first have a wild guess if an Eeveelution will come after almost 13 years.

Fans Speculate About a New Eevee Evolution

Among the biggest discussions in the community revolves around Eevee. Despite being one of the most beloved Pokémon, Eevee has not received a new evolution in more than a decade. The last addition to its evolutionary family was Sylveon, introduced in Pokémon X and Y.

Eevee already evolves into several fan-favorite forms, including Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. With no new "Eeveelution" in 13 years, fans will do anything just to see another evolution form. Being excited is just an understatement in their books.

Recently, speculation intensified after posts on the popular r/pokemon subreddit suggested that a Flying-type Eevee evolution could appear in Wind and Waves. Concept art circulating online shows a design called "Leveon," featuring Eevee-like traits with large ears and feathered details resembling icy wings on its head, tail, and paws.

Why a Flying-Type Eeveelution Fits the Game

A Flying-type Eeveelution would align well with the theme of "Pokémon Wind and Waves." With a world reportedly built around multiple islands and expansive skies, the idea of an aerial Eevee evolution naturally complements the game's "wind" concept.

According to ScreenRant, some fans also point out that a Flying-type Eevee had reportedly been considered in earlier Pokémon development phases but was never finalized.

According to discussions online, the idea was allegedly scrapped because the concept looked too similar to existing fan designs, and redesigning it would require additional development time.

The Long Wait for a New Eeveelution

For now, the rumored Leveon remains unconfirmed, and fans will likely have to wait until 2027 to see whether the new evolution becomes official. Still, the excitement shows just how strong the demand remains for a new Eeveelution after more than a decade.

The only thing we can do is wait for official announcements, but even then, the next teasers are expected to drop after five or six months.
