No 'Watch Dogs' Release Date For Wii U Yet, But Ubisoft Creative Director Gives an Update

Don't Worry, Ubisoft Hasn't Forgotten About Watch Dogs For Wii U

A lot of people are super excited for Watch Dogs next month. Well, a lot of people except for Wii U owners, that is.

The upcoming open-world hacking extravaganza is coming out within the month for all other major platforms, but the Wii U version is still delayed until "fall 2014," with no real release date.

Luckily it does not seem that Ubisoft Montreal has completely forgotten about Nintendo's console, and in speaking with Red Bull Games, Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin gave some details on the progress of the Wii U version.

"Right now [the Wii U version is] currently being done, but I'm not directly involved," Morin said. "We wanted to finish all the platforms that we are currently shipping. We needed those guys to get [the shipping versions] finished, and the good news now is that they're all fully focused on the Wii U version, making sure it gets the attention it deserves to make it the best version it can be."

So that's a relief. A little update on a release date would've been nicer, but it's good to know that all hands are now on deck to get the Wii U version to retail sooner than later. Watch Dogs on the Wii U could arguably be the best version if the gamepad can be properly implemented to replicate Aiden's smartphone in game. Hopefully that's all part of making the game "the best version it can be."
