'Surgeon Simulator,' iPad Game: DLC Update To Bring 13 New Languages & Unlockable Alien Surgery Gameplay? [VIDEO]

Update Hits Surgeon Simulator on iPad & E.T. Patient On the Way!

Bossa's Surgeon Simulator hit iOS in March to an apparently enthusiastic crowd. According to a press release, the Bob euthanizer "left its bloody prints across the paid App Store charts, reaching the Top 3 overall in all English-speaking countries. The iPad version has already hit the top 5 overall in 49 countries, as well as enjoying a blood-soaked tenure at the summit of the Role Playing chart across 91, including the US, UK, Australia and Canada." Now, a new update should help the game expand well beyond English speaking countries.

The update localizes the game into 13 new languages, so French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Dutch, and Portuguese speaking butchers from sea to shining sea the world over can carve Bob into a cadaver. But beyond the addition of new languages to expand the game's player base, something a little more out of this world is also on the way.

Here's a quick back-story. In addition to being a fairly difficult "simulation" game thanks to some ridiculously awkward controls, Surgeon Simulator also had something of a hidden meta-game. Besides patient Bob, there were a number of things in the operating room that curious doctors could interact with, and if dedicated gamers were crafty enough, they could unlock a secret extra terrestrial patient, complete with far out surgical tools. Until now, only PC players were lucky enough to dissect an otherworldly outcast, but now iPad players will get the chance to go Kevorkian on a tiny green man. Because let's face it, you have no idea how to really transplant a gobbleshaft properly.

The release mentions the intriguing new content on the way in the form of a new patient, and at no cost to you, the good doctor: "In addition, brand new DLC featuring an extra-terrestrial patient will be available soon as a free update."

No mention of when the update is coming though, but we'll let you know when Bossa lets that info slip.
