'Enemy Front' Story Trailer: Go Behind Enemy Lines And Resist Nazi Occupation In Upcoming Shooter [VIDEO]

'Enemy Front' New Trailer Highlghts Story, Go Behind Enemy Lines And Resist Nazi Occupation

Developer City Interactive has just released a story trailer for their soon to be released WWII first person shooter Enemy Front. Wishing that Call of Duty would go back to its 'the last just war' roots? Son, I've got the game for you.

Battlefield: Hardline Will Bring Military Action To Police Shooter

Just in time for the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe, the game puts you in the shoes of Robert Hawkins, an American war correspondent as he travels across various theaters, interacting with the resistance groups and fighting off the Third Reich invaders. By making the character unaffiliated with any armed force, the game can venture into previously untouched or underdeveloped conflict zones, such as Poland, which had already been blitzed by the Nazis long before the Americans showed up. The game will heavily feature events of the Warsaw Uprising, the longest such uprising during the war. For 63 days, the Polish freedom fighters fought back the Nazis, awaiting the arrival of a Soviet Army that never came. Thousands of resistance members were killed, and hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed or executed before the end.

City Interactive describes the game as "...the first truly modern WW2 FPS, featuring stunning visuals, open-ended levels and a richly interactive combat experience that breaks out of the standard model of highly linear scripted FPS experiences, giving the player full freedom to own their playing style. Intense Combat, Sniping, Stealth and Sabotage - all are viable approaches for the player, maximizing player engagement and replayability."

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Next Gen Exclusives?

I am most interested in the open end gameplay. I love the Call of Duty games, even the single player, but there is a criminal amount of hand holding involved, 'go here, shoot x, destroy y, go there'. I hope Enemy Front can deliver on creating a more organic, less forced gameplay experience, allowing events and firefights to play out in a more natural way. Imagine approaching a squad of soldiers and every time, something is slightly different in the way they're stationed?

The game will feature multiplayer, though not much has been spoken of it outside of the standard Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch. City Interactive does claim that two additional multiplayer modes will "provide interesting twists on MP mechanics."

Enemy Front hits PS3 and Xbox 360 on June 10. Watch the story trailer below. Tell us what you think!
