Apple WWDC 2014 Rumors: Banners At Conference Venue Hint At iOS 8 Reveal And More

Apple's much-anticipated Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is set to kick off on Monday in San Francisco, and decorations and banners at the venue more than hint at what we can expect to hear about from the electronics giant.

WWDC Dates, Times, And Details Announced

As reported by The Verge, who are at the Moscone West building that will host the conference, large banners adorning the building and hallways show off an "8" logo, a clear indication that Apple will be showing off its next iOS iteration.

The company's keynote speech is usually a source of hardware and/or software reveals, so that's when such an unveiling would take place. The keynote is set for 10 a.m. on the first day of WWDC, so it won't be long until Apple takes the stage with new information to share.

Also pictured is an "X" banner, presumably for the computer software OS X, which Apple are also likely to reveal the next iteration of. It will be a big conference for software if this is the case, with Apple already having made big changes to its mobile platform with iOS 7 last year. You can see the pictures The Verge captured from the venue at the link above.

It shouldn't be all software, however, as the iPhone 6 should logically make an appearance as well. Apple's competitors Samsung, HTC, and LG have all either released or revealed their newest flagship smartphones, so the company has some catching up to do on its comparable device.

It could be a disadvantage as the other smartphones are on the market already, or could work in Apple's favor as it has its own showcase and separate launch that gains sole consumer attention. Either way, expect big news coming out of WWDC this week, and be sure to check back here as it breaks.
