'EA Sports UFC' News: Playable Demo Out Today On PSN & Xbox Live, Players Choose From Jon Jones Or Alexander Gustafsson [VIDEO]

Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson Star in EA Sports UFC Demo, Out Today for PS4 and Xbox One

EA Sports UFC is set to release later this month, but if you were hoping for a sample before outright buying the game, you're in luck. As of today, a demo is set to be released on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

Players have their choice to pick either Jon Jones or Alexander Gustafsson, barely 2 percent of the game's final roster which is estimated to consist of around 100 fighters, and that's not even counting DLC characters. Jones currently stands as the #1 fighter in UFC's pound-for-pound rankings, while Gustafsson is at #14. However, the selection is a nice touch for UFC fans as the demo will let them recreate UFC 165's Light Heavyweight Championship between the two fighters.

Jones won the match in a unanimous decision, but many fans felt the decision was controversial, as Jones actually left the ring in a stretcher with welts, facial swellings, and a deep cut. Despite the result, the fight itself was called "an epic battle," "instant-classic," "Fight of the Year," and "greatest fight in UFC history."

It will be the first UFC game to feature female fighters with Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey, who appear alongside other titans of the sport like: Georges St-Pierre, Chuck Liddell, Frank Mir, Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans, and others, with more than 30 fighters in all when the game releases.
