'Persona 4 Arena Ultimax' Will Be 'Best Fighting Game' Of E3, ATLUS Says. Your Move, 'Mortal Kombat X'

ATLUS, the designers behind popular Japanese fighting game Persona 4 Arena, has announced their intentions for the upcoming E3 in Los Angeles and they are making no bones about what they really want for their Persona 4 Arena Ultimax release: total domination.

Sony Will Livestream Their E3 Event On Monday June 9 To Theaters

According to ATLUS's enthusiastic press release: "Our big tentpole game this year is Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the sequel to 2012's multiple award-winning fighting game, and we're not going to let any sissy yellow or blue-colored ninjas stand in our way to win the best fighting game of the show." I've never been in a fight, but I'm pretty sure that's how you get into one. The company will be running matches throughout the entire show, so you should get down there and try your skills against the best of the best. They will be showcasing three new titles in the persona franchise, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (PS3/360), Persona Q (3DS) and Persona 4: Dancing All Night (PS Vita).

Additionally, ATLUS will have "legendary character designer Shigenori Soejima (Persona 3/4/Arena/Ultimax/Q, Catherine, etc.) on hand signing our limited edition E3 prints." Be sure to follow ATLUS on Facebook and Twitter, where they will be randomly selecting winners to receive one of the signed prints.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor E3 Trailer Has Great CGI

I will admit to being clueless about the franchise, but a character known as Teddie will be gracing the ATLUS badges, booth and even the swag they give away and I have to say, he's kind of adorable. Per the PR, "We'll also have that stylish Teddie bag to hand out to anyone who stops by our booth (#4810, West Hall) while supplies last. Oh, and with so much Teddie at the show this year, we're doing something special. We have a SINGLE Persona Q 3DS LL straight from Japan (it only works with Japanese games, but it's SO pretty). We're giving it away to one attendee, and we'll have details about that at our booth!"

In a stunning twist, ATLUS will be releasing their E3 trailers at E3. "We'll also have some new trailers for Persona Q and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax; keep an eye on your inbox next week, we'll share those trailers to the Faithful next Tuesday!"

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was released in Japanese arcades in November of last year and is slated for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 28 in Japan and for Q3/Q4 this year for the North American markets.

Watch the trailer below! And be sure to check out their E3 booth next week. Follow along with GameNGuide, and we'll bring you all the news that's fit to print.
