'Far Cry 4' First Gameplay Footage Begins Ubisoft's E3 2014 Media Briefing [TRAILER]

Ubisoft Starts E3 2014 Briefing With a Bang From Far Cry 4

Microsoft opened up E3 this afternoon, followed up by EA, but Ubisoft is up to bat while you read this. They started things off strong with the first official look at Far Cry 4.

As Ajay Ghale, Players Will Take On Pagan Min In Far Cry 4's Himalayan Civil War

Just like all the other Far Cry titles, things are from the first person perspective. Ubisoft's demo began with the player, Ajay Ghale, aboard a bus at the foot of the Himalayas, approaching an armed barricade. As the bus slows to a halt and soldiers inspect the vehicle, all hell breaks loose, and we're formally introduced to Far Cry 4's villain, Pagan Min. Not quite as insane as Far Cry 3's Vaas, but with a better fashion sense and penchant for taking group selfies. See for yourself below.

We're not quite sure why, but Min has quite the interest in Ghale. Time will tell exactly what that is. A small slip up from Ubisoft gave us the following description of the game in late May:

"Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother's dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min. Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Here, every decision counts, and every second is a story. Welcome to Kyrat."

Far Cry 4 will be available November 18 in the US, November 20 in Europe, and November 21 in the UK. The game will release for PC, PlayStation 3 and 4, and Xbox 360 and One.
