'Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition', E3 2014 Blizzard Announces Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Of Us DLC Exclusively For PlayStation

It has been a big day for Diablo players at this year's E3 in Los Angeles. In addition to releasing patch 2.06 for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, Blizzard Entertainment has also released the details on some very tantalizing goodies for the upcoming next gen port Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition. Needless to say the reveals are, ahem, 'colossal'.

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus Will Bring Next Gen Hack N Slash To Your Phone

PS3 and PS4 players are in for a rare treat. According to Gamespot, Blizzard has announced the inclusion of a Shadow of the Colossus themed transmog armor set exclusively for the Sony consoles. While it is not, sadly, anything related to The Last Guardian, I suppose that will have to do in the meantime.

The hits keep a coming. In addition to the inclusion of the Colossus based armor set, Blizzard and Sony also announced on Monday night that the spore zombies from The Last of Us will soon be coming to the PS4. That's right, you'll be able to hack n slash your way through Clickers, no additional weapon upgrades needed. I feel like many people will find the experience cathartic.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, The Diablo Game You Always Wanted

Additionally, the new patch notes for the PC version of Diablo will do away with the unique crafting materials requirement for legendary items. Says the patch notes, "Legendary crafted items are meant to be both a stepping stone into end game items and a good place to spend crafting materials at the end game. While we like the fantasy of having the unique crafting materials, obtaining them was either keeping too many people from being able to complete the recipes in a timely manner or encouraging game flipping and similar less than ideal patterns of play in order to acquire them. As such, we are removing the requirement for unique items when crafting Legendaries."

That sound you hear are the wails of the hardcore yelling 'NERF!' Patch 2.06 is now live in the Americas. You can read the full patch notes here.

There has been no release date set for either the Shadow of the Colossus add-on nor the The Last of Us DLC, but it is highly doubtful they will be there for the August 19 release of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition. The console game will launch on PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
