'Summoners War: Sky Arena' Release, iOS And Android Strategy RPG Lets You Wage Fantastical Battle On Your Phone
E3 is not just about the big consoles. Mobile gaming has made serious inroads into the market recently and though small, they still deserve a seat at the industry table that is E3. Today, developer Com2uS announced the release of turn based RPG Summoners War: Sky Arena for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
Not to be confused with the masterful strategy game Summoner Wars from Playdek, Summoners War: Sky Arena is a turn based, fully 3D adventure game that features city building, monster summoning (of course), extensive combat and a PvP competitive mode. It's a little Final Fantasy, a little Animal Crossing and a whole lot of Pokemon.
Players can collect from over 400 monsters, each with differing attributes of Fire, Water, Wind, Light, and Dark. These monsters can be leveled up, evolved, and upgraded through extensive rune systems. Lineups and skills can then be put to test against other players in the Sky Arena, the game's PvP mode.
To celebrate the game's global launch, Com2uS is holding two limited time events. Every 5 levels until level 20, players will instantly receive in-game cash. Furthermore, players can win additional rewards each day by collecting 3 wins in PvP. Promotions are available until June 18th.
The game downloads in an instant and is sure to keep players occupied. Com2uS is quite excited for the game's release, says Casey Lee, the head of Com2uS USA, "With its simple controls and auto fight features, the game bridges the gap between casual and core gamers for players around the world to enjoy."
It's a very fine gateway RPG. Maybe you don't have the time to sink into some epic, god-ending campaign, maybe you're like me and play mostly on the subway or bus. The fights are quick and the controls are easy to understand.
Summoners War: Sky Arena is available now, for free! Download it today. Watch the trailer below.
